Oak Haven utility displays boil-water order after E. coli well sample

CSWR-Florida’s current service-alert panel lists an October 15 boil-water order for all Oak Haven customers, system FL3424106, in ZIP 34475. This applies to that utility system, not every address in the ZIP code or Marion County.

Follow the utility’s drinking-water instructions

The utility directs affected customers to use bottled water or boil water for one minute, then cool it, before drinking, preparing food, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. Continue until the utility says the order is lifted. A home filter is not a substitute for these instructions.

What the official warning says

The October 15 public notice reports E. coli found in the water supply that day. Its incident explanation locates the finding in a groundwater-well sample collected during routine monthly monitoring. It says additional sampling was underway to investigate the cause and location. This establishes the reported well-sample finding; it does not establish a positive result at every household tap.

The utility highlights added concern for people with weakened immune systems. Anyone with persistent symptoms or a particular medical vulnerability should contact their health-care provider.

Status checked October 22

The utility still displayed this order when checked October 22. We verified its current alert panel and the linked two-page English/Spanish warning. We did not verify a later Oak Haven rescission or a time for clearance. Check CSWR-Florida’s Service Alerts or call its published support number, 855-476-1942, for address-specific instructions and changes.

Why this report is late

Late detection: Florida Tap Report first verified this October 15 notice on October 22. The utility’s paginated alert panel was missing from our direct monitoring baseline, while the text-only reader omitted the notices. We have added a live-panel check; search recrawl dates are not the incident date.

See the statewide alert entry for subsequent updates. This report makes no treatment-equipment recommendation.
