Oakland missed July water sampling; follow-up met standards

The Town of Oakland published a monitoring notice October 15 about missed July 2026 testing. The Town says later samples met drinking-water standards and customers need take no action.

What happened?

Oakland says it did not collect the scheduled July samples for total trihalomethanes (TTHM) and five haloacetic acids (HAA5), two groups of disinfection byproducts. Its notice lists one required annual sample for each group and zero taken during July.

What do the later samples show?

The Town reports that it collected follow-up samples August 5 and that those samples met drinking-water standards. The notice does not publish the numerical results. Later compliant samples do not establish what the uncollected July samples would have shown.

What should customers do?

The Town describes this as a public notification, with no customer action required. It does not issue a boil-water notice or announce a confirmed contaminant exceedance. This report concerns the Town water system, identified in the notice as PWS 3480913, rather than every Orange County provider.

For questions, contact the Town at 407-656-1117, extension 2306. Use the Town’s current instructions if it publishes a further update.
